Yamaha Motor Introduces New Electric Golf Cart Line
IWATA, Japan – March 5, 2025 – Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Tokyo: 7272) announced today that it will launch the G30Es and G31EPs, new five-seater electric golf carts, in Japan this June. The company also plans to introduce both models in the Taiwanese market at a later date.
The new lineup includes the electromagnetically guided G30Es and the manually operated G31EPs. These carts are equipped with a newly developed lithium-ion battery and a vehicle control unit. This combination offers a quiet ride, and the high-performance AC motor with superior speed and torque control provides a smooth and stable experience.
Yamaha’s in-house developed lithium-ion battery, fully designed and manufactured by the company, uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) materials for its cells. This design choice offers high reliability and an extended lifespan. Users can choose between 4 kWh and 6 kWh battery options, depending on driving range, course characteristics, and playing style.
The Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) manages the Motor Control Unit (MCU) for the drive motor, achieving both high efficiency and high output. The optimized regenerative braking system and AC motor reduce power consumption by approximately 30% compared to previous models, according to internal research.
2025 marks Yamaha Motor’s 50th anniversary in the golf car business. The G30Es and G31EPs represent a fresh chapter in Yamaha’s Low Speed Mobility (LSM) business, as it moves into the next 50 years.
