A Yarmouth Port man was arrested after a hit-and-run incident in the Tiki Port Restaurant parking lot in Hyannis on Sunday, March 23, according to the Barnstable Police Department.
At approximately 1:50 p.m., the man, driving a white pickup truck, struck two women before leaving the scene. One woman sustained serious injuries and was transported to a Level I trauma center in Rhode Island. The other woman received treatment for minor injuries at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, the police press release stated.
Police located and arrested the 21-year-old driver following a traffic stop. He now faces multiple charges, including two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, driving with a suspended license, driving with an unregistered motor vehicle, and attaching wrong motor vehicle plates to conceal identity.
The man was scheduled for arraignment on Monday, March 24, in Barnstable District Court, according to the release.
